Emergency

Call Us Right Now If

If you are standing in the yard wondering whether it can wait until Monday, it cannot. Call and we will tell you straight.

  • A tree or large limb is on your house, garage, or vehicle
  • A tree is down across your driveway and you cannot get out
  • A limb is hung up in the canopy and could come down on its own
  • A trunk has split and part of the tree is leaning toward the house
  • A tree came over in wind and the root plate is lifting out of the ground

An emergency is anything that is already moving or about to. We have been answering calls like this out of Berryville since 1977. Somebody picks up the phone at any hour, and the truck that shows up is our truck with our crew on it.

What It Costs

What Drives the Price

Overhead chainsaw cut on a limb in Winchester, VA
  • The size of the tree, both the height and the diameter of the trunk
  • Which way it is leaning now and where the weight wants to go
  • Whether the bucket truck can get to it or a man has to climb it
  • How far the chipper has to sit from the work
  • How much wood is left on the ground once the tree is down
  • Whether anything has to come out over a building or a fence

Estimates are free and we give you the number before anybody starts a saw.

Insurance Claims

Most homeowner policies cover tree removal when a tree hits a covered structure. We will document the work with photos and give you an itemized invoice your adjuster can actually use. We are fully insured with general liability and workers compensation, and we will provide the certificate on request.

How the Work Runs

What We Do When We Arrive

Make it safe first

Before anything else we deal with whatever is still able to move or fall. Nobody works under a hanger until it is on the ground.

Get you access

Driveway and entry cleared so you can get vehicles in and out. That is usually the first thing a family needs back.

Take the load off

Weight lifted off the structure in controlled sections instead of dragging it. Roped and lowered so the damage does not get worse on the way down.

Clear and haul

Debris out, yard raked. Full cleanup once the emergency part is handled.

How It Goes

Before We Get There

Crane lifting a trunk section over a building during a technical removal by Mother Nature Tree Service

Get everybody out from under it and stay out. A hung limb can let go with no warning and no sound.

If any wire is involved, or you are not certain whether it is, treat it as live. Call the utility and call 911. Do not go near it and do not let anyone else near it. We do not touch primary lines and neither should you.

If it is safe to do so from a distance, take photos before anything is moved. Your insurance adjuster will want them and it costs you nothing to have them.

FAQ

Questions About Emergency Tree Work

Call Robbie at (540) 514-7906.

  • Are you really available at night and on weekends in Winchester?

Yes. We are listed as open 24 hours and we mean it. Storm nights are exactly when this phone rings.

  • How fast can you get to an emergency in Winchester or Clarke County?

It depends on how many calls are stacked up after a storm and where you are. We triage by danger, so a tree on an occupied house goes ahead of a tree down in an empty field.

  • Does insurance pay for this?

Usually yes when the tree struck a covered structure. Coverage for a tree that simply fell in the yard varies by policy. Check with your carrier and we will supply whatever documentation they need.

  • What if the tree is on a power line?

Do not go near it and do not let anybody else near it. Call the utility first, then call us. Around here that is usually Dominion Energy or your local co op depending on the address. The line has to be cleared or de energised by the utility before any saw goes near that tree. Once they release it, we take care of the tree and the cleanup.
