In Clarke County

A Clarke County Company

Our yard is at 1240 Moose Rd in Berryville, which puts us inside the county rather than driving into it. For customers that means shorter response times, estimates that do not have to be batched with other trips, and a crew that already knows the roads, the properties, and in a lot of cases the trees.

1240 Moose Rd sits inside Clarke County, so we are not driving into this county to reach you, we are already in it. Clarke County is largely rural, with a lot of farm ground, horse property, and older homes carrying mature plantings around them. Tree work here tends to involve big open grown hardwoods, long driveways, livestock fencing, and outbuildings, rather than the tight lot conditions you get in the city.

The Work

What Comes Down Around Here

The county covers a lot of ground and the work varies with it, but a few themes repeat.

Ash Across the Whole County

Emerald ash borer went through Clarke County and left standing dead ash on fence lines, in woodlots, and along driveways. Dead ash gets brittle fast and is unpleasant to climb, so we take those down sooner rather than later.

Open Grown Farmstead Hardwoods

The big oaks and maples that grew up alone in a field or beside an old farmhouse carry heavy low limbs and wide crowns. They are worth keeping and they are worth watching, because a limb that size does real damage when it lets go.

Heritage and Specimen Trees

A lot of the older places around Millwood and Boyce have trees somebody planted on purpose a long time ago. On those the goal is preservation, so we reduce weight and clean out deadwood instead of reaching for the removal price.

Storm Damage on Open Ground

Storm damage runs hard across open acreage where the wind gets a long run at a tree. Hazard trees near barns, equipment, and livestock get moved to the front of the list.

Getting to You, and What It Costs to Look

Full crew and equipment on a Winchester, VA job site

Getting to you

Being based on Moose Rd means we are not fighting a long haul to get to you. Boyce is about ten minutes south, White Post is twenty, and Millwood is right down Route 255.

Long lanes and open ground

Farm lanes, livestock fencing, and outbuildings are normal here. We walk the access at the estimate so the bucket truck and the chipper end up where they need to be before anybody starts a saw.

What we haul off

The chipper and the grapple work behind the saw the whole time, so the yard never gets buried while the tree is coming apart. Wood and brush leave with us. When the cutting is done we rake the area out and pull the truck off your grass.

Firewood and chips

If you want the wood cut to length for firewood, or a load of chips dropped for beds or a lane, tell us at the estimate and we will leave it instead of hauling it.

What a look costs

Nothing. Estimates are free anywhere in Clarke County and you get the number before any work starts. We are open 24 hours and the whole county is close to the yard. Call and we will tell you honestly where you fall in the queue.
